COMPAQ CONFIDENTIAL - NEED TO KNOW REQUIRED
Temperature Requirements
To ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the equipment, locate the
system in a well-ventilated, climate-controlled environment.
The Compaq Maximum Recommended Ambient Operating Temperature
(TMRA) for most server products is 35°C (95°F). Therefore, the temperature in
the room where the server is located should not exceed
35
°
C
(95°F).
The operating temperature inside the server will always be higher than the room
temperature, and is dependent on the configuration of the equipment. The
TMRA for each piece of equipment should be checked before installation.
For rack models, the operating temperature inside the rack will always be
higher than the room temperature, and is dependent on the configuration of
equipment in your rack. The TMRA for each piece of equipment should be
checked before installation. The maximum internal rack temperature for your
configuration should not exceed the values shown in Table 2-1.

CAUTION:
To reduce the risk of damage to the equipment when
installing third-party options:
■
Make sure that the option equipment does not impede
airflow or increase the internal temperature beyond the
Compaq specified maximum rating.
■
Make sure that the Manufacturer’s Maximum Recommended
Ambient Operating Temperature of the option equipment is
not exceeded when installed.
