I/O Expansion Boards
Supported I/O Expansion Boards
The I/O board of the ProLiant 6000 has ten expansion slots. Slots 3 through 11
will support a variety of industry-standard I/O expansion boards. Slots 1 and 2
are not hot-plug capable and are dedicated to ISA Modem and Compaq
Standard Peripheral Board support, respectively.

NOTE
: Do not remove the Compaq Standard Peripheral Board. It is required
for normal operation of your server.
NOTE
: A Compaq dual-port 10/100 TX network adapter may be located in
slot 5. Remove the terminator plug from the second RJ-45 connector when
using the dual-port capabilities.
NOTE
: Most video controllers will need to be placed in slots 3 or 4.
Locating the I/O Expansion Slots
The I/O expansion slots are located on the I/O board located directly beneath
the top access panel.
1.
Turn off the server.
2.
Disconnect all power cords.
3.
Unlock and open the front bezels.
