Installing Hardware Options
IMPORTANT:
These instructions are for use with Pentium II Xeon and
Pentium III Xeon processor-based servers only.
The following instructions are provided as an overview for installing hardware
option upgrades. Compaq recommends that you use the documentation
provided with the hardware option for complete installation instructions. You
may also want to refer to the Compaq ProLiant 6000 Hardware Installation
and Configuration poster included in the shipping box or the labels attached to
the inside of the server access panels.
WARNING:

the equipment, the installation of options other than hot-plug
power supplies and hot-plug hard drives should be performed
only by individuals who are qualified in servicing server
equipment and trained to deal with products capable of producing
hazardous energy levels.

components. Be sure you are properly grounded before beginning
any installation procedure. See Appendix B, “Electrostatic
Discharge,” for more information.

model servers only.
