Installing a PCI Expansion Board
(Slots 3-11)
To install an expansion board, refer to one of the following installation sources:

For a detailed text and illustration procedure, refer to the documentation
that came with the option kit.
■
For an illustration overview of the installation procedure, refer to the
Hardware Installation and Configuration poster included in the shipping
box and on the label located on the inside of the top access panel of the
server.
■
For an overview of this procedure, refer to the procedure below.
NOTE
: For more information about installing an expansion board in Slot 10
or 11, see “Adding PCI Expansion Boards with Extended SCSI” later in this
chapter.
IMPORTANT:
Remove the SMART-2DH Array Controller cache board
shipping bracket (see Figure 4-31) if installing the SMART-2DH Array
Controller. This will ensure the board will be installed completely into
the slot.
