VER#, All RAM Clear Test
Use this test to verify the current software version number and clear the RAM contents. Remember that when
the RAM is cleared, the previously set ALARM SYSTOLIC settings are also cleared. This means that after the
“ALL RAM CLEAR” is done, the Press-Mate will return to the normal operating mode. Steps 3 through 5 in
Section “A” at the beginning of this calibration section must be repeated.

Pump-Up (Inflation) Test
Normal Mode Pump up Test
a. Attach the 700 cc dummy cuff to the cuff connector (See Figure 7.1)
b. Push the START/STOP switch to start the test
c. The dummy cuff will inflate to about 250 mmHg, and the monitor will calculate the time of
inflation.
d. During inflation, the current pressure is displayed in the SYSTOLIC, DIASTOLIC, and PULSE
LED windows (SYSTOLIC, MEAN, and DIASTOLIC windows for model 8800 Press-Mates).
e. Once the test is complete, the time taken to inflate the 700 cc dummy cuff to 250 mmHg is
displayed in the SYSTOLIC window in seconds, less the decimal point (e.g., 40 = 4.0 seconds).

The acceptable range is 2.8 to 7.3 seconds.
Auto-Up Mode (if applicable)
a. Press the list up to select “2 Auto Up Mode”.
b. Repeat steps a-e of normal mode pump up test.
c. The acceptable range is 2.5 to 8.5 seconds.

RS232 Test
a. Connect the RS232 connector to the RS232 port on the back of the Press-Mate.
b. Press the START button. This initiates the transmission of a stream of data from the transmit line
back into the receive line. The monitor will then verify the accuracy of this stream.
c. If the transmission was acceptable, “PAS” will be displayed in the PULSE window; if the
transmission was not acceptable, “bAd” will be displayed in the PULSE window.
