•
Use only Nellcor
®
oxygen transducers. Use of other oxygen transducers may cause improper oximeter
performance.
•
Inaccurate measurements may be caused by incorrect sensor application or use; significant levels of
dysfunctional hemoglobin or intravascular dyes; exposure to excessive illumination, such as surgical lamps,
bilirubin lamps, fluorescent lights, infrared head lamps or direct sunlight; excessive movement; venous
pulsations; electrosurgical interference; and placement of the sensor on an extremity with a blood pressure
cuff, arterial catheter, or intravascular line.
•
Remove batteries from the N-20P during prolonged storage.
•
To clean the N-20PA Pulse Oximeter, dampen a cloth with a commercial, nonabrasive cleaner, and lightly
wipe the surfaces of the N-20PA. Do not spray or pour liquid on the instrument or accessories. Do not
allow liquid to contact connectors, switches, or openings in the chassis.
Additional Precautionary Statements for the 8800F/FP
•
Cleaning the thermometer may be done by wiping the exterior casing of the thermometer unit and the probe
with an alcohol solution. Use a cloth or sponge, just damp, not wet, and avoid getting any liquid into the
interior of the thermometer.
•
The thermometer may be gas (ethylene oxide) sterilized. Do not sterilize with dry heat or autoclave. Refer
unit to Biomedical Engineering.
•
When not in use, store the thermometer probe in its protective chamber located in the thermometer unit
beneath the blood pressure monitor.
Additional Precautionary Statements for the 8800MS/MSP
•
Always use a new probe cover. Soiled covers will affect accuracy.
•
Genius should not be used on patients with profuse ear drainage or the presence of blood or cerebrospinal
fluid in the ear canal.
•
In the unlikely event of a perforation in the probe cover membrane, accuracy may be affected. Visually
inspect probe cover prior to taking a temperature.
DANGER
! Oxygen vigorously accelerates combustion. Possible fire hazard may occur with the N-20PA
Oximeter when used with oxygen administering equipment. Explosion hazard when used in the presence of
flammable anesthetics.

Installation
1.
On the rear panel, turn the printer switch to the "ON" position and the display switch to the "ON" position.
2.
Connect the pressure hose securely to the connector on the front panel of the monitor.
3.
Select the proper size cuff and attach securely to the air hose.
4.
To measure using the battery power, check that the front panel battery indicator is lit and green. To
measure using AC power, connect the three-pronged power cord into the receptacle on the rear of the
unit.
5.
If your Press-Mate includes a built-in printer, load the paper by following the instruction on the side panel
of the monitor or refer to Section 5 of this manual.
