To configure an interface or to create or configure a virtual interface, use the
interface
command in global
configuration mode. To delete the interface configuration, use the
no
form of this command.
interface type interface-path-id

Physical interface or virtual interface.
Use the
show interfaces
command to see a list of all interfaces currently
configured on the router.

Usage Guidelines
To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes appropriate task
IDs. If the user group assignment is preventing you from using a command, contact your AAA administrator
for assistance.
The
interface
command enters interface configuration mode to allow you to configure interfaces. If a virtual
interface is configured, then the interface is created if it did not already exist.
The
no
form of this command applies only to virtual interfaces or to subinterfaces (that is, interfaces that have
been created in global configuration mode).
