Indicator and Warning
Lights
Your vehicle has a number of
warning lights.
The warning lights go on when
there may be or there is a problem
with one of your vehicle's
functions. Some warning lights
come on briefly when you turn the
ignition key just to let you know
they're working properly.
The warning lights are displayed
either in the instrument cluster or
at the center of the instrument
panel.
Engine Oil Pressure Warning
Light
This light should come on when
the ignition is on but the engine is
not running, as a check to show
you it is working properly.
If you have a problem with the oil,
this light may stay on after you
start the engine, or come on while
you are driving. This indicates
that oil is not going through the
engine quickly enough to keep it
lubricated. The engine could be
low on oil, or could have some
other oil problem. Have it fixed
right away.
Check the oil and add if needed.
See "Engine Oil" in Section 4 for
more information.
If the oil level is normal, have the
lubricating system inspected by a
dealer.

NOTICE
Do not keep driving with low oil
pressure. Severe engine
damage can result from driving
the vehicle with low oil pres-
sure. Check the oil as soon as
possible and add oil if neces-
sary. If the oil level is normal,
have your vehicle serviced.
Charging System Light
This light should come on when
the ignition is on but the engine is
not running, as a check to show
you it is working properly.
If it stays on, or comes on while
you are driving, you may have a
problem with the electrical charg-
ing system. Have it checked right
away.
NOTICE
Driving while this light is on
could damage the vehicle.
If the light comes on while driving:
1. Stop and park the vehicle in a
safe place.
2. Make sure the drive belt is not
loose or broken.
See "Drive Belt" in Section 4 for
more information.
3. If the drive belt is in proper
working order but the
charging system warning
lamp stays on, there may be a
problem somewhere in the
charging system.
Have the vehicle serviced as
soon as possible.
