Rocking Your Vehicle
To free your vehicle when it is
stuck:
1. Turn the steering wheel left
and right to clear the area
around the front wheels.
2. Press the
TC
button to turn
the traction control and
stability systems off.
If your vehicle is a CTS-V
model, the button is located
on the steering wheel.
Otherwise, the button is
located on the instrument
panel.
See Section 1 for more
information on how to turn
the traction control and
stability systems on and off.
3. Shift the transmission back
and forth between
R
(Reverse)
and a forward gear (first or
second gear for vehicles with
manual transmissions),
spinning the wheels as little as
possible.
To prevent transmission wear,
wait until the wheels stop
spinning before shifting gears.
Release the accelerator pedal
while you shift and press it
lightly when in gear.
The rocking motion may free the
vehicle.
If it does not, you may need to
have the vehicle towed out.
Recovery Hooks
Your vehicle is equipped with front
and rear recovery hooks.
The front recovery hook access
door is located on the front fascia
on the right side of the vehicle.
The rear recovery hook access
door is located on the left side of
the rear fascia.
To use the recovery hook, you
must install the eye bolt.
1. Remove the eye bolt from the
trunk.
2. Pull open the access door and
insert the eye bolt.
3. Rotate the eye bolt clockwise
to tighten firmly.
