Problems on the Road

4. Start the engine and let it run
until you can feel that the
upper radiator hose is getting
hot (watch out for the engine
cooling fans). By this time, the
coolant level inside the
coolant tank will be lower.
CAUTION
The electric engine cooling fan
can start even if the engine is
not running. Be careful around
it.
5. Add more of the right mixture
to the coolant surge tank until
the level reaches the
FROID/
FULL COLD
mark.
6. Then replace the cap. Be sure
the cap is tight.
NOTICE
The surge tank cap is a pres-
sure-type cap and must be
tightly installed to prevent cool-
ant loss and possible engine
damage from overheating. Be
sure the cap is hand tightened
and fully seated.
The next time you use your
vehicle, recheck the level in the
coolant surge tank before starting
the engine.
The level should be at the proper
mark.
