Emergency Alerts
The system will automatically
interrupt the audio to bring you
local or national emergency
broadcasts.
ALERT
or
ALARM
appears on the display.
The announcement is heard even
if the volume is set low or a
compact disc is playing.
When the emergency broadcast is
over, the radio will return to the
volume setting and the station or
compact disc you were listening to
prior to the broadcast.
Note: This feature may not be
supported by all RDS stations.
Traffic Announcement
The sound system is capable of
interrupting the playback of the
radio or compact disc to bring you
a traffic announcement.
To enable or disable this feature,
do the following:
1. Press the
CONFIG
(configure)
button to display the radio
setup menu.
2. Press the push-button under
RDS
(radio data system) to
display the RDS menu.
The RDS configuration options
will appear on the display.
3. You may choose one of the
following two modes:
-
TP ON
(traffic announce-
ment priority on)
Select this option to enable
this feature.
-
TP OFF
(traffic announce-
ment priority off)
Select this option to disable
this feature.
If the traffic announcement feature
is enabled and you are tuned to a
station that broadcasts traffic
announcements,
TP
appears on
the display.
If a traffic message is generated by
the tuned station or a related
network station, the radio will
interrupt your current listening
mode to bring you the announce-
ment.
