If your vehicle is equipped with an
ignition control knob, apply the
regular brakes before turning the
ignition control knob.
Turn the ignition key or ignition
control knob to
START
. Do not
push the accelerator pedal.
If your vehicle is equipped with an
ignition control knob, the keyless
access transmitter must be in the
vehicle for the ignition to work.
If the keyless access transmitter is
not detected in the vehicle, the
Driver Information Center will
display
ELECTRONIC KEY NOT
DETECTED
.
If this happens, please see "Keyless
Access Transmitter Not Detected"
under "Engine Starting Problems"
later in this section.
Let go of the key or ignition
control knob when the engine
begins cranking.
The engine will start automatically.
Do not race the engine
immediately after starting.
Allow enough time for the engine
to warm up and deliver oil to the
various parts of the engine
requiring lubrication.
The idle speed will go down as the
engine gets warm.
If
REPLACE BATTERY IN REMOTE
KEY
appears in the Driver
Information Center display, you
should replace the battery in the
keyless access transmitter.

in this section for more informa-
tion.
