Pitching the Motorhome

5.6

Steady Legs (Partially Special Equipment)

In order to ensure their correct function, clean and grease the interior tubes of the steady legs reg-
ularly.

Extending:

³

Place the socket spanner on the hexagon nut (Fig. 11,1) and rotate. The steady leg swings
downward and is automatically extended.

³

Rotate the hexagonal nut until the steady leg rests completely on the ground and the motorhome
is in a horizontal position.

Retracting:

³

Place the socket spanner on the hexagon
nut (Fig. 11,1) and rotate until the steady leg
is clear of the ground.

³

Rotate the hexagonal nut with the socket
spanner until the steady leg has swung up-
wards and the guide disc (Fig. 11,3) has
completely retracted into the notch
(Fig. 11,2).

Do not use the fitted steady legs as a vehicle jack. The steady legs are only for stabil-
ising the pitched motorhome.

When pitching, ensure that the steady legs are evenly loaded.

V

Before driving away, wind up the steady legs as far as they can go, fully retract and se-
cure them.

V

When the ground is soft or sinks, place a large plate under the steady legs in order to
prevent the vehicle from sinking into the ground.

V

Make certain that each steady leg
is completely folded in and that
the guide disc (Fig. 11,3) for each
steady leg has been completely
retracted into the notch
(Fig. 11,2).
