4-2-1. How to solve ink pouch wind-up failure
Ink pouch is not properly wound up
Possible Cause Corrective Action
Is the ink pouch in contact with the side face of the
cartridge due to unevenness?
Correctly install the ink pouch with reference to
"Replacement of ink pouch".
Is the ink pouch sagged and wrinkled?
Does the ink pouch have dents on the edges?
Is the wind-up shaft inclined?
Re-install the wind-up shaft with reference to "6-1-34.
Disassembly / Assembly of ink cartridge".
Is the wind-up shaft caught on the gear pressure plate? Replace the cartridge.
The lock is unexpectedly unlocked
Possible Cause Corrective Action
Is the lock intentionally unlocked?
Do not forcibly unlock the lock. When the ink level lowers,
the lock is automatically unlocked.
Has the lock plate spring come off?
Install the lock plate spring with reference to "6-1-34.
Disassembly / Assembly of ink cartridge". If the lock plate
spring is missing, replace the cartridge.
Is the ink pouch being reused? Do not reuse the ink pouch.
The lock is not unlocked
Possible Cause Corrective Action
Is the ink pouch folded or wrinkled immediately after it is
wound up? Remove folds or wrinkles to straighten the ink pouch with
reference to "Replacement of ink pouch".
Is the sliding tape separated? Replace the cartridge.
<TIPS>

You can unlock the lock by slightly tilting the cartridge and pressing in the latches on the back side by fingers.
