Safety information
DANGER
Contact with live components can lead to
an electric shock. There is a risk of injury
or danger to life. After an accident, do not
touch any high-voltage components such as
orange colored high-voltage cables or parts
that are in contact with exposed high-voltage
cables.
Warning
Fluids in the high-voltage battery are corro-
sive. There is a risk of injury. Do not touch
fluids escaping from the high-voltage battery.
Jump-starting
General information
If the battery is discharged, the engine can
be started using the battery of another vehicle
and two jumper cables. Only use jumper ca-
bles with fully insulated clamp handles.
Do not jump-start vehicles with hybrid drive.

two vehicles, a short circuit can occur dur-
ing jump-starting. There is a risk of damage

Make sure that no body contact occurs.

Swapping the positive and negative termi-
nals can permanently damage components
of the hybrid system or the vehicle electron-
ics. There is a risk of damage to property,
among other potential damage. Be careful
not to swap the positive and negative termi-
nals. Take note of the sign next to the posi-
tive terminal.
Preparation
1. Check whether the battery of the other ve-
hicle has a voltage of 12 volts. The voltage
information can be found on the battery.
2. Switch off the engine of the assisting vehi-
cle.
3. Switch off any electrical components in
both vehicles.
Jump-start terminals
The jump-start terminal in the engine compart-
ment acts as the positive battery terminal.
A special connection on the body in the engine
compartment acts as the negative battery ter-
minal.
