General information
Depending on how the vehicle is equipped,
Intelligent Safety consists of one or more sys-
tems that can help prevent an imminent colli-
sion.
▷ Forward Collision Warning with light brak-
ing function, refer to page 203 .
▷ Evasion Assistant, refer to page 206 .
▷ Intersection warning with City light braking
function, refer to page 208 .
▷ Pedestrian Warning with City Collision Miti-
gation, refer to page 211 .
▷ Lane departure warning, refer to page 213 .
▷ Active Blind Spot Detection, refer to

▷ Side collision mitigation, refer to page 219 .

Safety information
Warning
The system cannot serve as a substitute for
the driver’s personal judgment in assessing
the traffic situation. Based on the limits of
the system, it cannot independently react
to all traffic situations. There is a risk of
accident. Adjust driving style to traffic condi-
tions. Watch the surrounding traffic situation
closely, be ready to take over steering and
braking at any time, and actively intervene
where appropriate.
Warning
Indicators and warnings cannot serve as a
substitute for the driver’s personal judgment.
Due to its limits, the system may not issue
warnings or responses, or these may be is-
sued late or in a manner that is not consis-
tent with their normal use. There is a risk of
accident. Adjust driving style to traffic condi-
tions. Watch surrounding traffic closely and
actively intervene where appropriate.
Warning
When towing with Intelligent Safety systems
enabled or Cruise Control switched on, in-
dividual functions may not work correctly.
There is a risk of accident. Switch off all In-
telligent Safety systems and Cruise Control
before towing.

Intelligent Safety
Settings
The following settings can be selected for In-
telligent Safety systems:
▷ "ALL ON": all Intelligent Safety systems are
switched on. Basic settings are activated
for the sub-functions, for instance setting
for warning time.
▷ "INDIVIDUAL": the Intelligent Safety sys-
tems are switched on according to the indi-
vidual settings.
▷ "Configure INDIVIDUAL": Intelligent Safety
systems can be configured individually. The
individual settings are activated and stored.
