Clean the touch-screen with any commercially available LCD cleaning product.
Be careful not to scratch the screen.
(2)
Cleaning the Block Wells
Do not use other cleaning or decontamination methods other than what is recommended
in the manual, doing so risks damage to instrument. Clean the block wells once weekly or
as needed.
Always wear protective glasses and gloves when servicing the instrument. Also, make
sure you disconnect the instrument from AC line power before you begin any service
procedure.
During instrument operation, the temperature of the hot-top cover can be as high as
110°C, and the temperature of the bath block can be as high as 100°C. Before cleaning
instrument, ensure that the hot-top cover and bath block reach room temperature.
To clean the block wells
1)
Open the hot-top cover.
2)
Remove the sample tray from the bath block and set it aside.
3)
Use a cotton swab soaked in pure isopropyl alcohol or commercial PCR DNA degradation
solution to clean the wells thoroughly. Make certain that the isopropyl alcohol or PCR DNA
degradation solution has evaporated completely before reloading a sample tray.
