10.1.6 3D-Orthogonal Mirror Table
The 3D Orthogonal Mirror Table is used to measure an animal from 3 side simultaneously. THis
is done throgh a specific mirror setup.
The Mirror assembly is located on a special carrier. This carrier is placed on a base plate which
is positioning the carrier under the camera. On the carriere there is a single anaesthesia mask
to anesthesise the animal during the maeasurement..
To install the base plate place it on the NightOWL base plate and center the plate in such a way
that the 2 fitting bolts fit in the 2 holes at the plate. Connect the 2 gas suppy tubes with the inner
part of the gas flange to allow the gas flow to the anaethesia masks.
Apart from the 5 fold anaethesia tray the gas supply is switched through the manifold on the va-
porizer rack because the mask is not equipped with an individual valve. When the mask is not
used close the valve at the vaporizer rack.
As sample format select a sample size of 130mm. The sample height should be set to 25mm
plus the half of the height of the measured animal. This means with an animal height of 20mm a
sample height of 35mm.
