Encoder Control
This section contains data that is used, if initial communication with the encoder is
needed to prompt the encoder to setup a stream.
IP Address
IP address of the encoder. Indication is mandatory to evaluate information of this section!
Port
Port where the encoder listens to TCP start commands.
IP Protocol
Not applicable, but the default value
udp
should not be changed.
Startstring
String that is additionally sent to the specified encoder. A suitable startstring is automati-
cally provided, by selecting
PID
above, if applicable.

As unicast streams are only sent to one single IP address, only one Streaming Video Card at
a time is able to display one particular unicast stream.
The encoder support depends on the firmware version of the S
TREAMING
V

ARD
SVC-2. A list with the supported
encoders can be read from the web-interface of the S
TREAMING
V
IDEO
C
ARD
. Therefore on a computer which is con-
nected to the same network enter the IP address of the S
TREAMING
V
IDEO
C
ARD
SVC-2 into the address field of a
web-browser and view the XML files.
The name of the encoder configuration contains the encoder name, the algorithm type, the layer, the transport
protocol and an indication whether unicast or multicast is used. Categories that are not applicable are omitted.
Currently the following encoders are supported and can be specified with the configuration number in the PID
field:
