5. Troubleshooting
Code 7703: “Power supply primary DCDC temp low” (Warning)
Situation
Solution
The ambient temperature in the
area of primary side of the SMPS
is almost below the minimum
required operating temperature of
the projector.
Make sure that the ambient temperature is within specs: higher then 10°C (50°F). Let
the projector acclimate. Do not ignite the lamp, otherwise there is a risk for condensate.
Defect temperature sensor
(reference 2image 5-34) which
measures the temperature at the
primary side of the SMPS.
Replace the temperature sensor mounted on the heatsink of the primary side of the
SMPS (reference 2image 5-34).
Code 7704: “Power supply primary DCDC temp high” (Warning)
Situation
Solution
Blocked air inlet channel.
Ensure that the air inlet at the front bottom of the projector is not blocked. Provide a
suf
fi
cient free area at the front of the projector so that fresh air can freely enter the air
inlet channel.
The wire unit of the SMPS is
disconnected from the Power
Distribution board.
Check if the wire unit (reference 1 image 5-33) of the SMPS control is connected with the
power distribution board.
The wire unit of the temperature
sensor on the SMPS is damaged.
Check if the wire unit (reference 2 image 5-34) of the temperature sensor on the SMPS
is not damaged. Replace sensor and wires if necessary.
Malfunction Fan Control board.
Replace the Fan Control Board. See "Replacing the Fan control board", page 278.
Defect temperature sensor
(reference 2image 5-34) which
measures the temperature at the
primary side of the SMPS.
Replace the temperature sensor.
Code 7705: “Power supply primary DCDC temp high” (Error)
This error code is probably preceded by the warning code 7704: “Power supply primary DCDC temp high”. The same troubleshooting
table can be applied to.
Code 7706: “Power supply primary DCDC temp open” (Error)
Situation
Solution
The wire unit of the SMPS is
disconnected from the Power
Distribution board.
Check if the wire unit (reference 1 image 5-33) of the SMPS control is connected with the
power distribution board.
The wire unit of the temperature
sensor on the SMPS is damaged.
Check if the wire unit (reference 2 image 5-34) of the temperature sensor on the SMPS
is not damaged. Replace sensor and wires if necessary.
Defect temperature sensor
(reference 2image 5-34) which
measures the temperature at the
primary side of the SMPS.
Replace the temperature sensor.
Code 7707: “Power supply primary DCDC temp short” (Error)
Situation
Solution
Damaged wire unit of the
temperature sensor (reference
2 image 5-34 and image 5-33).
Repair or replace the wire unit.
Defect temperature sensor
(reference 2 image 5-34) which
measures the temperature at
heatsink of the primary side of the
SMPS.
Replace the temperature sensor mounted on the heatsink of the primary side of the
SMPS (reference 2image 5-34).
Code 7708: “Power supply primary PFC temp low” (Error)
This error code is probably preceded by the warning code 7708: “Power supply primary PFC temp low”. The same troubleshooting
table can be applied to.
