Chapter 9: Contact management operations
Contact types in the Avaya Vantage
™
built-in Unified
Communications experience
Through the Contacts tab in the Avaya Vantage
™
built-in Unified Communications (UC)
experience, you can access the following contacts:
• Enterprise contacts stored on various servers as configured by an administrator. Depending
on the communication system used, the enterprise contacts are made available as follows:
- In an Avaya Aura
®
environment, PPM or Avaya Aura
®
Device Services contacts.
- In an IP Office environment, centralized IP Office directory contacts.
- In a BroadSoft Open SIP environment, BroadSoft directory contacts. To access these
contacts, an administrator must enable the BroadSoft directory feature.
• Local contacts that are saved on the device or the default contact account defined on the
Android system. If no default account is configured, the contacts are saved on the device.
Note:
You can view and modify the default contact account from the Android Contacts area by
tapping and then
Settings
>
Default account for new contacts
.
Avaya Vantage
™
deletes local contact data when another user logs in to the device. To store
local contact data, you must enable data backup and provide a backup account in
Settings
>
System
>
Backup
.
In Avaya Vantage
™
, you can save a contact as a local contact on the device or a personal contact
in the enterprise, IP Office, or BroadSoft personal directory. You can also modify or delete
personal contacts added to the enterprise, IP Office, or BroadSoft personal directory. Any
modification to personal contacts is synchronized automatically between Avaya Vantage
™
and the
directory server.
You cannot modify or delete enterprise system directory contacts. However, you can save a
system contact as a personal contact.
When contact pictures are enabled in Avaya Aura
®
Device Services, the picture is displayed on
the contacts list in Avaya Vantage
™
.
