2.2. HYDRAULIC BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
PARKING BRAKE / BRAKE RELEASE
This machine has automatic hydraulic self-braking,
i.e. the parking brake is activated when the machine is
idle. In addition to the mechanical brake on each
motor, this system is composed of 2 balancing valves
(marker
a = forward; marker b = reverse on photo)
located on the hydraulic unit between the two motors.
These valves are set in the factory and adjusted on
each machine. If you remove or change these valves
you must adjust them before you use the machine.
Remove the cover above the wheel motors.
1- Loosen the nut at the end of the valve to
release the adjustment screw (caution,
the adjustment screw turns at the same
time as the nut).
2- Fully tighten the adjustment screw
(female 6-sided head) then loosen by two
and a half turns. Your valve should now
be set. Repeat for the second valve.
- NOTE -
The more you tighten the adjustment screw the more you tighten the parking brake and
vice versa.
BRAKING WITH THE MACHINE RUNNING
The machine is equipped with an anti "free wheel" system. You may increase or reduce the
braking distance by moving the rate limiter handle (marker
c on the photo) located on the hydraulic
unit between the two wheel motors. This handle is set in the factory. The purpose of this function is
to avoid motor over-speed in free wheel and to slow the machines down to a complete standstill
without a sudden stoppage; the balancing valves then take over.
