18- You can also dismantle the wheel spindle round plates (15 and 16) if the collar (10) is
completely warned and the pivot pins (3 and 4) have started to rub on the round plates: then
unscrew the screws (17 and 19), and release the round plates (15 and 16).
REASSEMBLY OF THE STEERING PIVOT PINS (3 and 4)
1- Reassemble the wheel spindle round plates (15 and 16) if these have been dismantled.
2- Reassemble new collars (26) in the pivot pins (3 and 4) if these have been dismantled.
3- Lubricate the spindle bearing surfaces and reassemble the spindles (7) without forgetting the
new washers (10) between the upper round plates (15) and the pivot pins (3 and 4).
REASSEMBLY OF THE STEERING CYLINDER (6)
4- Reassemble new collars (25) in the spindle bearing surfaces of the steering cylinder if these
have been dismantled.
5- Reassemble the spindles (8 and 9).
REASSEMBLY OF THE DRAG ROD (2)
6- Grease the tie-rod ends and check the centre distance (561mm).
7- Screw up the screws (20) again and the brake nuts (22). Use new nuts.
- Reconnect the hydraulic hoses located previously on the cylinder (6).
- Fix the wheel(s) with the wheel nuts and tighten the nuts to 193Nm with a torque wrench
(cf. table: "Tightening torque for screws", § 1.6).
- Reconnect the batteries and operate the steering so as to check the sound running of the
steering cylinder as well as the associated mechanical components.
1.1.5 SLEWING RING
The machine is fitted with a turret where orientation is produced by a worm wheel rim coupled with
a hydraulic motor.
Adapted lubrication is indispensable for the long lasting life of the rolling bearing and toothing
raceways.
