MACHINE.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW A SINGLE
SAFETY INSTRUCTION CAUSES A
RISK OF ACCIDENT WITH THE
MACHINE AND OF INJURY TO THE
PERSONNEL.

SAFETY AND THAT OF THOSE
AROUND YOU.
2.1. THE
OPERATOR
In the capacity of operator, you are the only part of the machine that can think and reason, your
responsibility is not lessened by the addition of alarm or running assistance systems. In actual fact,
you must avoid acquiring a false sense of safety when you use the machine. The control and
alarm apparatus are there to assist you, and
NOT
to direct the use of the machine.
You, the operator, are the only one who can assume your safety and that of those around you.
Act as a
PROFESSIONAL
and comply with the
SAFETY
rules.
2.1.1 TRAINING OF THE OPERATOR
It is essential that the operator receives the
necessary training by appropriate and accredited
personnel.
For this, he must meet the following conditions:
- Be appointed by name
- Be 18 years old
- Have a medical examination
- Follow a training course for operating this aerial
work platform
* operating authorization relating to the Order n°
98-104 dated 12-12-98
* recommendation R386 of the CNAMTS.
- Possess the competence certificate for the safe
operating of platforms.
(PIAF= type 3B platform)
- Have the written authorization from his employer
which can certify the validity of the training.
2.2. SUITABILITY
OF
THE
WORKSITE
It must be noted that for each site it is important to
be sure of the suitability of both the equipment
(aerial work platform) and the worksite (or site).
On each site, specific directions or instructions can
be established by the prime contractor, the firm
using the equipment…
Before using the equipment, please read the
instructions which are to be found on the aerial
work platform (coloured stickers)
