LESSON 7 Heating Elements Wiring
OBJECTIVE: Upon completion of this lesson, the student should be able to
explain the wiring of the heating elements.
Needle Heating Elements
•
Included in a Needle Heater that attaches to the dispensing needle.
•
Selected for compatibility with your valve or fluid pump.
•
Installed by a service technician during dispensing system installation or
upgrade.

EXERCISE 2-7 Installing the Heating Element
1. Loosen the thumbscrew on the front of the Heating Element.
2. Perform the following, depending on your type of heating element:
§
HT04: Slide the heating element onto the needle and onto the valve tip.
§
HT06: Slide the heating element onto the needle and onto the luer lock fitting.
§
HT10N: Insert the needle into the heating element side slot.
3. Tighten the thumbscrew on the front of the heating element.
4. Plug the J-type thermocouple cable and the Needle Heater power cable into the power outlets
labeled NEEDLE HEATER on the under side of the dispensing head.
