EXERCISE 3-10
Cleaning the valve
1. Fill an ultrasonic cleaner with an appropriate cleaning solvent for the dispensing fluid to
be dissolved.
2. Immerse the valve body and stainless steel luer fitting in the ultrasonic cleaner.
3. Activate the ultrasonic cleaner for two minutes.
4. Clean the fluid feed chamber, feedscrew barrel, and stainless steel luer lock fitting using
the bottlebrush while the ultrasonic cleaner is running.
5. Remove all components after two minutes.
6. Remove any powdery residue remains in the valve with pressurized air.
7. Clean the feed screw carefully using a bottlebrush.
EXERCISE 3-11 Reassembling
the valve
1. Apply a small amount of conditioning fluid to the seal shoulder at the base of the
motor/feedscrew assembly on the valve.
2. Apply a small amount of conditioning fluid to the feedscrew on the valve.
3. Insert the feedscrew into the valve body through the Teflon lip seal.
4. Rotate the motor mount cleats until they stop snugly against the motor mount plate.
5. Attach the stainless steel luer fitting.
6. Slide the valve into the bracket from the left side.
7. Tighten the three setscrews on the left side of the valve.
8. Connect the CB6000 Interface Cable to the valve.
