STUDENT GUIDE
LESSON 8 Pneumatics
OBJECTIVE: Upon completion of this lesson, the student should be able to
describe the pneumatics of the Century Series.
PNEUMATICS
AIR FILTER Filters out particles and
impurities in the facility
air supply.
COOLING FAN Designed to cool the
inside dispensing area.
MAIN AIR IN
Attaches your facility air
supply to the Century
Series system.
AIR SUPPLY
CONNECTORS Four connectors that
supply air to the fluid
pump, syringe, and other
mechanics.
EXERCISE 2-8 Completing power and pneumatic connections
1. Plug the black Main Power Cord into the Main Power Inlet located at the back of the system.
2. Plug the other end of the Main Power Cord into a facility power outlet.
3. Connect you facility air supply to the AIR IN connection at the left rear of the system.
4. Locate a row of ports inside the dispensing area, on the right side of the dispense head.
5. Connect the Fluid Pressure and Valve Pressure lines from the dispensing fluid syringe valve
to the ports as follows:
•
Clear Pneumatic Line: FLUID PRESSURE.
•
Black Pneumatic Line: VALVE OFF.
•
Blue Pneumatic Line: VALVE ON.
6. Connect the syringe to the fluid pump.
