Is the roller clamp opened? 

 

Is the drip chamber placed in the Easy Clip in a way that the drops can be seen? 

 

Is there no condensed water on the walls of the drip chamber? 

 

Is the Drip chamber vertically? 

 

Is the drip chamber not filled more than half? 

 

If there is more than one infusion pump in one stack, attention must be paid to make 
sure the easy clip is placed at the correct drip chamber. 

 

Is the vent on the drip chamber opened? 

 

Is the Easy Clip plugged in the right plug? (for more info consult page 2) 

 
If all these points are fulfilled you may start the pump. Appear the mistake again, please 
contact your technical department. 
 

NOTE:

 The Easy Clip is a safety element which drastically improves patient safety. By 

monitoring the falling drops several test of internal functions can be made.

4.8

 

Nurse Call System 

The pump may be connected to the external nurse call system via the connector (20) on the 
rear of the unit using cable part number 94070. All alarms are transmitted to the nurse call 
station. 
 

Warning: Even though it is possible to forward the alarm to the external nurse call 
system, the alarms of the pumps have to be observed by the user locally. 

 

4.9

 

Internal Alarm 

The Volumed® µVP7000 continuously monitors the correct functionality of the pump. For 
safety reasons the pump will trigger an internal alarm if any discrepancy is detected. If an 
internal alarm occurs, the pump will automatically stop and emit an audible alarm and the 
alarm pictogram is illuminated. An internal alarm does not mean that the pump is defect, but 
it should be carefully checked before putting it back into operation. 

 

 
When the Menu key is pressed twice the LCD will display the error code together with a 6 
digit number. In such a case the pump must not be used any more. The pump should be sent 
to technical department or to

. (Address on page 7). 

 
HINT: Take the pump of the mains power. You can switch off the pump after an internal 
alarm by pressing the ON/OFF key. If the pump should not power down immediately and 
continue the audible alarm, hold the ON/OFF key of 12 seconds to reset it.
