(3) Starting characteristics test
Note:
Perform this test in a place free from vibration and where the am-
bient temperature fluctuation is within
±

C.
[Procedure]
1. Set the frequency counter to use an external frequency standard in-
strument.
2. After 24 hours from turning the power on, measure the output fre-
quency of the 10MHz Buff Output connector on the MD8470A using
the frequency counter. Read values to the 0.1 Hz digit (same for
other measurements below).
3. Turn off the power, wait 12 hours then turn on again.
4. Wait 10 minutes, then measure the output frequency of the 10MHz
Buff Output connector on the MD8470A using the frequency counter.
5. Calculate stability with the equation below.
