2.3.6 Reference signal I/O connectors
The BNC type 10MHz Ref Input connector on the rear panel of the
MD8470A is used for inputting external reference signals. Input a fre-
quency within
±
0.5 ppm and at a level of 0 dBm or higher.
Set whether to use the reference signal built into the MD8470A or an ex-
ternal reference signal with the utility. Refer to Section 3.3.2 “Switching
reference signal” for details.
The BNC type 10MHz Buff Output connector outputs a 10-MHz reference
signal built into the MD8470A at TTL level.

2.3.7 Trigger connectors
The Trigger I/O Output connector on the rear panel of the MD8470A is a
BNC connector for outputting a trigger signal to an external device. The
trigger signal is output at LVCMOS level.
The Trigger I/O Input connector is a BNC connector for inputting the trig-
ger signal from external devices and performing transmission measure-
ments for UE synchronized with external devices. Input the trigger sig-
nal at LVCMOS level.

Trigger I/O connector.
