B.1 Returning to the State at Factory Shipment
In the MD8470A, pre-installation image is backed up at factory shipment.
Using FirstWare Recover
TM
enables you to return to the setting state at
factory shipment. The following describes the procedures.
Note:
If a “Recovery kit” seal is not attached on the rear panel of the
MD8470A, pre-installation image is not backed up.
When you want to get the version upgrade including the backup,
contact our Service and Sales office described in the last page of the
printed version of this manual, and in a separate file on the CD ver-
sion.
CAUTION
FirstWare Recover
TM
is booted by the dedicated Mater Boot
Record (MBR).
Do not install software (other OS bootloader, etc.) that
overwrites the MBR because FirstWare Recover
TM
cannot
be booted.
CAUTION
Be sure to back-up and reconfigure the license data before
returning your MD8470A unit to the setting state at factory
shipment. Backup of the license data is necessary be-
cause the simulation kit may be disabled if the license data
is lost. Re-configuration of the license file makes it pos-
sible to resume the expiration date of the license to that be-
fore the MD8470A was returned to the setting state at facto-
ry shipment.
Refer to Section 3.3.6 “License management” for backing up and re-
configuring the license file.
