3.2.4 Using mouse/trackball
When using the mouse, connect it to the Mouse connector on the rear
panel before turning the power switch of the MD8470A On.
The trackball (Left key, Right key, Pointer) on the front panel of the
MD8470A can operate just as the mouse does. The trackball can be used
even if the mouse is connected to the rear panel of the MD8470A.

Equivalent to the left-click of the mouse. Either
Left key on the left or right may be used.
Right
Equivalent to the right-click of the mouse. Either
Right key on the left or right may be used.
Pointer Used to move the pointer on the screen.
The trackball pointer may stop moving smoothly when dust, dirt and
hand grime are adhering to it. Clean it with cloth in this event.
3.2.5 Using keyboard/on-screen keyboard
When using the keyboard, connect it to the Keyboard connector on the
rear panel before turning the power switch of the MD8470A On.
Press the
Keyboard
on the front panel of the MD8470A to display the
on-screen keyboard on the screen. Characters can be entered by using
the on-screen keyboard, mouse or trackball even when the keyboard is not
connected to the rear of the MD8470A.

3.2.6 Using RS-232C connector
An external PC, etc., can be connected to the MD8470A via the RS-232C
connector on the rear panel using a serial cable.
