E1 Identifying Faults
The Model 4500 MkIII Dust and Opacity Monitor has been designed to assist
the user to find and correct a number of possible problems. If the instrument
detects a problem it will switch off the Green System OK LED and de-
energise the System OK relay.
Further diagnostic information may be obtained as follows:

2) Use the and arrows to select Diagnostics and press
The number of faults present is shown in the top left corner of the
display.
3) If the number of faults is not zero, use the and arrows to select
List Faults and press
The first Fault Number is displayed. Its meaning and the recommended
action are listed in the Table opposite.
4) Use the and arrows to see any other Fault Numbers. If there are
no other faults, the number will not change.
5) Press
6) To clear the faults, use the and arrows to select Clear Faults
and press . The number of faults will be updated. If there are still
faults present, this will not be zero.
Note
The list of displayed faults is only updated on entry to the diagnostics
menu, and in response to a Clear Faults instruction. Changes in fault
status while the Diagnostics menu is in use may not be visible.
