Automatic seed rate increase
The coulter pressure and the exact following
harrow pressure can be adapted to the soil dur-
ing operation when changing from normal soil to
heavy soil and vice versa. Hydraulic adjustment
of the coulter pressure and the exact following
harrow pressure is required.
Automatic increase of the seed rate can be
switched on. A control terminal with job computer
and an adjustable sensor (Fig. 41/1) on the hy-
draulic coulter pressure adjustment unit are re-
quired.
The control terminal serves to enter the desired
rate increase in 5 %-increments.
If the desired rate increase is set to 0 % on the
control terminal, the seed rate remains un-
changed when the coulter pressure increases.

Spreading seed with wide row spacing
For spreading seed with wide row spacing, e.g.
maize, individual seed rows can be closed. The
seed flow is interrupted to the coulters that are
not required.
The seed lines are closed off in the segment
distributor head with the plugs (Fig. 42/1).
The assembly tool (Fig. 42/2) is used to insert
the plugs in the segment distributor head (see
section "Installing the plugs in the segment dis-
tributor head", page 202).
