Installing the plugs in the segment distributor head for
spreading seed with wide row spacing
For spreading seed with wide row spacing, e.g.
maize, individual seed rows can be closed.
1. Seal the required seed lines in the segment
distributor head using the plugs (Fig.
263/1). The assembly tool (Fig. 263/2) is
used to insert the plugs in the segment
distributor head.

Tramline segments cannot be closed using the plugs (Fig. 263/1).
If work should be performed with closed tramline segments, close
and deactivate the respective tramline flaps (see handling
instructions 2).
2. Close and deactivate the tramline flaps.
2.1 Switch on the tramline control.
2.2 Close the tramline flaps.
2.3 Deactivate tramline segments whose flaps should be closed during operation (see section
"Deactivating the active tramline flaps", Page 201).
2.4 Advance the tramline counter. Open the active tramline flaps.
3. Calibrate the seed rate (see section "Calibrating the seed rate", page 130).
