Service manual AlphaCom XL transceiver Rev. 1.4 10-08-2011
Blz. 33/74
Configuration IP transceiver 1
When pressing the button „transceiver settings‟ in the main menu, the following screen will appear.
The AlphaCom XL has 4 transceivers that can be programmed. This is subdivided into 2 transceivers both
with there own backup transceiver. When choosing for
IP transceiver 1
, the settings will be displayed for
transceiver 1 including the backup transceiver. When choosing for
IP transceiver 2
, the settings will be
displayed for transceiver 2 including the backup transceiver.
It is only possible to access the „PSTN dialer‟ settings when the PSTN plug-on dialer has been installed on
the AlphaCom XL.
The first transceiver is always active and does not have the
enable/disable
setting. The other 3 transceivers
can be enabled by selecting the „use this tranceiver‟ option.
The account number is a 4,5 or 6 digit number that is provided by the central station. Default value is 4
digits. The central station will provide you with the correct account number according to the type of receiver
equipment they have. Also the IP address and the port number is supplied to you by the central station.
The local port is freely programmable. Usually this setting is not important. The local port settings of the IP
transceiver 1 and it back-up must be different, for instance 8000 and 8001 (and 8002 / 8003) for the second
transceiver). When encountering a problem with transmission to the central station, the router can be
programmed to allow UDP packages from the Wide Area Network (WAN, outside world) to pass through if
they are sent to port 8000, 8001, 8002 or 8003.
If the AlphaCom XL uses the GPRS functionality, these settings are also important. Please be aware that the
4 transceivers each use a different local port !.
