T o Use the Level Correct Routine
In addition, you must supply the cables and adapters necessary to connect
the equipment.
1. Connect the equipment as shown in Figure 3-4:

2. Set the address that the synthesizer will use to address the power
meter during the level correct routine .
F or example , use the following procedure to set the power meter address
to 23.
a. Press the 4 SPCL 5 key .
b. Type 4 20 5 on the synthesizer numeric keypad.
c. Press the 4 Hz 5 (ENTER) key . Y ou will be prompted to enter the power
meter address .
d. Type 4

e. T erminate the power meter address by pressing the 4
Hz
5 (ENTER) key .
3. Choose the programming language that the synthesizer will use to
communicate with the power meter over the HP-IB .
F or example , use the following procedure to choose HP 437B compatible
programming language .
a. Press the 4 SPCL 5 key .
b. Type 4 21 5 on the synthesizer numeric keypad.
c. Press the 4 Hz 5 (ENTER) key .
