Declaring the presence of trapping information
If you are sending your Adobe PDF files to a prepress service provider, you can use the
Document Properties dialog box to specify whether a PDF file contains trapping
information. This can help prevent the service provider from adding potentially
conflicting trapping commands to the file. Trapping information can either be imported
with other PostScript information from the authoring application, or created in Acrobat
using trapping presets supported by Adobe In-RIP Trapping. (See
, or see the authoring application's documentation for details on
including trapping information in a PostScript file.)
To specify whether a file contains trapping information:
1. Open the PDF file, and choose File > Document Properties.
2. Select Advanced on the left side of the Document Properties dialog box.
3. Choose one of the following options from the Trapped menu, and then click OK:
●
Yes if the file contains trapping information.
●
No if the file does not contain trapping information.
●
Unknown if you do not know whether the file contains trapping information.
