8.2.3.2 Setting LD Expansion Parameters
Maximum Free Capacity (MB)
If there is an amount present in the Maximum Free Capacity text box, the LD may be expanded. If
there is no amount present in Maximum Free Capacity text box then the LD cannot be expanded.
Set Expansion Size
A value can be entered in this text box if and only if an amount is shown in the Maximum Free
Capacity text box. The value entered into the Set Expansion Size text box cannot exceed the amount
shown in the Maximum Free Capacity text box. The value entered into the Set Expansion Size text
box specifies the size of the LD expansion.
Execute Init
The “Execute Init” allows the user to determine whether or not the expansion will be done online
or offline. If the user wishes to do an online expansion then the ONLINE menu option should be
selected. If the user wishes to do an offline expansion then the OFFLINE menu item should be
selected from the “Execute Init” menu.
8.2.3.3 Click “OK” to Initiate LD expansion
To initiate the LD expansion, follow these steps:
1 Once the LD expansion parameters have been selected, click the “OK” button at the bottom of the
Expand Logical Drive window shown in Figure 8–17 (note that the “OK” button is not shown in this
image and can be found at the bottom of the screen).
2 A confirmation window shown in Figure 8–18 will appear. If you are certain that you want to create
the LD with the settings you have selected, click the “OK” button.
3 If you selected the “OK” button in the “Please Confirm” window the “Create In Progress” content
window shown in Figure 8–19 will display logical drive creation progress.
