Cleaning the heatsink
The inverter module heatsink fins pick up dust from the cooling air. Check the cleanliness
of the heatsink regularly. The inverter runs into overtemperature warnings and faults if the
heatsink is not clean. When necessary, clean the heatsink as follows.

1. Stop the inverter and do the steps in section
Precautions before electrical work

before you start the work.
2. Open the inverter cubicle door.
3. Extract the inverter module from the cabinet as described in section
inverter module (frames R8i, 2 × R8i, 3 × R8i)
4. Remove the module cooling fan as described in section
below.
5. Blow clean, dry compressed air (not humid) from bottom to top and simultaneously
use a vacuum cleaner at the air outlet to trap the dust.
Note:
Prevent the dust from
entering adjoining equipment.
6. Refit the cooling fan.
