V7111 Gateway Line Testing 

The V7111 gateway features a mechanism that performs tests on the telephone lines 
connected to FXS and FXO ports. These tests provide various line measurements.  

 

The line testing mechanism is performed on channel 1 and therefore, disconnects 
any call that is in progress on this channel. Therefore, it is recommended to perform 
the testing only when there are no calls in progress. 

The following line tests are available on FXS gateways:

  Hardware revision number. 

ƒ

  Temperature (above or below limit, only if a thermometer is installed). 

ƒ

 Hook 

state. 

ƒ

 Coefficients 

checksum. 

ƒ

  Message waiting indication status. 

ƒ

 Ring 

state. 

ƒ

  Reversal polarity state. 

ƒ

  Line current (only on port 0). 

ƒ

  Line voltage between TIP and RING (only on port 0). 

ƒ

  3.3 V reading (only on port 0). 

ƒ

  Ring voltage (only on port 0). 

ƒ

  Long line current (only on port 0). 

The following line tests are available on FXO gateways:
