An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed:
- Turn the ignition on. DO NOT start the engine.
- Place the transmission in PARK.

to proceed.

The Control EGR Step Position / System screen displays.

Choose
Decrease
to decrease the EGR target position. Choose
Increase
to increase the EGR target position.

The display refreshes to show the
results. Repeat as desired.
4.
Press
ENTER
to return to the PCM
Actuator Test and Special Function
Menu.
The Inspection Mode function is used to
check exhaust gases by engine intermittent
prohibition or to allow use of a chassis
dynamometer by cutting Traction Control
(TRC).

Select
Inspection Mode
in the PCM Actuator Test and Special
Function Menu, then press
ENTER
.

- Erase all DTCs from the vehicle’s computer
- Turn the ignition on. DO NOT start the engine.
- Verify the Ready Light is OFF.

to continue.

Select the desired inspection mode;
2WD for cutting TRC

2WD for
measuring Exhaust Gas

4WD for cutting TRC
or
4WD for
measuring Exhaust Gas

A “confirmation” screen displays.
4.
Choose
Exit
to return to the PCM
Actuator Test and Special Function
Menu.
5.
Turn the ignition off to exit the inspection
mode.
Cranking Request
The Cranking Request function lets you toggle the ECU mode from
“normal” to “compression test” mode for performing a compression test
or other maintenance functions.
