Page Safety
is in use, you must use the
Page Clear
button to remove an Instant Call page
stack from the list before it is transmitted (regular individual Instant Call pages behave as
they did before). If the same Instant Call page stack is subsequently added again, it is
pushed to the back of the list. When
Page Safety
is pressed, pages are sent in the order of
their final selection.
If the Page Safety feature is not programmed, paging begins immediately upon pressing
the Instant Call button.
Instant Call Types
For
Select-Then-Transmit
or
Instant Transmit
types, one or more channels may be
used to transmit the page; channels that support a Tone Frequency must assign a single
tone frequency to always be used with that channel—it may not be modified by the Instant
Call page.
Talk Time
If Voice Message Talk Time is enabled, the transmitter stays on for a configurable amount
of talk time after a page is sent. This allows the user to announce a voice message to the
paged audience. A talk timer is displayed in the System Region and Status Line (see
); it indicates the remaining talk time.
Instant Call Talk Time is associated with each Instant Call page stack. Manual Paging
Talk Time is a single value, programmed per position, that is automatically applied to
manual page stacks.
Transmit
Attempts to keyup on currently selected channel(s).
Select-Then-
Transmit
Clears any existing channel selections, then selects its programmed
channel(s), then attempts to keyup on selected channel(s).
Instant
Transmit
Keys up on defined channel(s) only; does not modify currently
selected channel(s).
Channel
Setup
This is a non-transmitting Instant Call Page type that is used for
transmitter setup such as changing talk groups. iDEN, SDC, and
MAP26 channels cannot be selected for a Channel Setup because
their channel setup requires a transmit.
Caution!
The
Transmit
page type cannot be used as the first page in
an Instant Call stack because it does not select a channel and
the console will not transmit the page if no channel is selected.
If there are any
Select-Then-Transmit
pages in the stack
they should be placed early in the stack with the
Transmit
type pages following after them.
Prior to version 5.0, the failure of a page early in the stack
would abort the rest of the remaining pages in the stack. With
version 5.0 and later, pages that cannot be sent (for whatever
reason) are skipped over and the remaining pages are
transmitted.
