Depending on the chemical composition of the material(s) machined
and the CL used (e.g. high extent of copper), electrochemical
reactions may occur due to creepage current within the system (after
the anode/cathode principle).
Particulate materials from more noble metals than the basic aluminum
plate, contained in the CL may even aggravate this effect.
Under certain adverse circumstances pitting may occur on the
aluminum plates, particularly if the anodic coating has been damaged
(scratches).
