Operator Programming Errors
♦ oPE Codes, Causes, and Possible Solutions
An Operator Programming Error (oPE) occurs when a contradictory parameter is set or an individual parameter is set to
an inappropriate value.
The drive will not operate until the parameter or parameters causing the problem are set correctly. An oPE, however, does
not trigger an alarm or fault output. If an oPE occurs, investigate the cause and refer to
Table 6.10
for the appropriate
action. When an oPE appears on the operator display, press the ENTER button to view U1-18 and see which parameter is
causing the oPE.

P o s s ib le S o l u t i o n s
The drive m odel selection (o2-04) and the actual capacity o f the drive are not the same.
Correct the value set to o2-04.

Parameter Range Setting Error
U se U 1-18 to find parameters set outside the range.
C a u s e
P o s s ib le S o l u t i o n s
Parameters were set outside the possible setting range.
Set parameters to the proper values.
N o t e :
W hen multiple errors occur at the same time, other errors are given precedence over oPE02.

M ulti-function D igital Input Selection Error
A contradictory setting is assigned to multi-function contact inputs H 1-03 to H1-08.
C a u s e
P o s s ib le S o l u t i o n s
• The same function is assigned to two multi-function inputs.
• Excludes “Not used” and “External Fault.”
• Ensure all m ulti-function inputs are assigned to different functions.
• Re-enter the multi-function settings to ensure this does not occur.
Emergency Stop N.O. and Emergency Stop N.C. (15 vs. 17) were selected at the same time
Check for contradictory settings assigned to the m ulti-function input terminals at the same
time. Correct setting errors.

Terminal Board Mismatch Error
C a u s e
P o s s ib le S o l u t i o n s
The drive, control board, or terminal board has been replaced and the parameter settings
between the control board and the terminal board no longer match.
To load the parameter settings to the drive that are stored in the terminal board, set A 1-03 to
5550. Initialize parameters after drive replacement by setting A 1-03 to 1110 or 2220.

Speed reference is assigned to an option card (b1-01 = 3) but an input option card is not
connected to the drive.
Reconnect the input option card to the drive.
The U p/Dow n command is assigned to an option card (b1-02 = 3) but an input option card is
not connected to the drive.
Although the digital card input is set for BC D special for a 5 digit input (F3-01 = 6), the data
length is set for 8 bit or 12 bit (F3-03 = 0, 1).
Set the input data for 16 bit (F3-03 = 2).

A t least two analog input terminals are set to the same function (i.e., parameters H 3-02 and
H3-10 have the same setting).
Change the settings to H 3-02 and H 3-10 so that functions no longer conflict.
N o t e :
