RAP 2.1: AC/DC power check
note
If any of the AC voltage
measurements are not within the
specifications, a qualified
electrician retained by the
customer must make the required
repairs. If you later find the
condition is not corrected,
inform your manager in writing
of the improper wiring.
1.
USO/XCL:
Voltage at the wall
receptacle must be from 90 VAC
to 132 VAC between AC hot and
AC neutral and between AC hot
and GND. Voltage should be less
than 3 VAC between GND and
neutral (see Figure 2-1).
Figure 2-1 AC Voltage Check
2.
UK:
Voltage at the wall receptacle is
180 VAC to 264 VAC between live
AC Hot
GND
AC Neutral
and neutral and between live and earth.
Voltage should be 3 VAC or less between
earth and neutral (Figure 2-2).
Figure 2-2 AC Voltage Check (UK, Europe)
3.
EUROPE (excluding the UK):
Voltage at the wall
receptacle is 180 VAC to 264 VAC between supply pins.
Voltage between one supply pin and earth is 197 VAC
to 264 VAC. Voltage between the other supply pin and
earth is 3 VAC or less (Figure 2-2).
If the voltage is not correct, notify the customer of the
electrical requirements.
4. Check the power supply fuse. First, performing the following REPs:
•
REP 1.1: WorkCentre Cover on page 4-3
•
REP 2.1.18: Printer Assembly on page 4-24 (Steps 1 to 5 only)
5. Check the condition of the fuse F1 on the power supply.
Result: Fuse is blown or defective?
No:
Perform RAP 2.2: Power Supply DC Voltage Check on page 2-12
Yes:
Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, go to RAP 2.3: Unloaded Power
Supply DC Voltage Check on page 2-14. If the fuse still blows, replace the
power supply (REP 5.1.1: Power Supply on page 4-38).
This concludes the AC/DC power check RAP. Perform the
System Check again, or return to the RAP that sent you here.
