Mailbox
Settings
Mailbox settings will affect only the mailbox that is entered when accessing the Mailbox
Settings programming parameters. There are six programming parameters which can be
used to customer each individual or department mailbox.
•
1
Reset password - This allows the administrator to reset individual mail-
box passwords back to factory default, which is 0000.
•
2
Enable/Disable - When a mailbox is disabled, no voice mail messages
can be recorded. When the mailbox is enabled, it will play the greeting and
take a message.
•
3
Out Calling Allow/Deny - If enabled the entered mailbox will have the
ability to programmed the voice mail to call an external telephone after a new
message is received. The voice mail will call the telephone number and allow
the subscriber to enter their password and retrieve any new or saved mes-
sages. When using this feature the voice mail places the call and begins play-
ing a message asking the subscriber to input thier password, and then it
waits for a DTMF tone. If no tone is heard the voice mail will play a special
“
Invalid Input
“ prompt and then it will begin the cycle all over again. There-
fore, it is possible for the subscriber to answer the call while the voice mail is
in the middle of playing the message or when it is playing the
Invalid Input
prompt.
•
4
Message Wait Lamp - After every new message, the voice mail will set
a visual indication, at digital extensions, lighting the LED associated with the
“Voice Mail” button and the light bar. Although rare, it is possible for the two
systems to lose synchronization causing the light to be on, even when there
are no new messages. This parameter will extinguish the light.
•
5
Transfer - At default the system matches the telephone extension num-
ber with the mailbox number. For example, Extension 10 is associated with
mailbox 10. Although these default settings will be fine for most installation,
this parameter allows the mailbox to be associated with any physical exten-
sion. For example, Extension 10 could be associated with mailbox 12.
•
6
Mailbox Do Not Disturb - Mailbox DND should be enabled when a sub-
scriber has a voice mailbox but does not have a physical extension. For exam-
