, 0.5 W – on the left channel speaker PWB in the position “ Rfb ”.
Solder in place.
Note: The builder may optionally increase the value of C6, the negative feedback capacitor by
a small amount (82 pF) to compensate for the capacitance of the feedback cable to the amplifier
boards. The improvement using the capacitor is minimal. However, the component is provided for
those who wish to use it. (The 82 pF capacitor (C6a) is included in the C6 package.) The
technique is as follows: wrap the leads of the small capacitor around the leads of the 0.015
μ
F
device near the component body. Solder and trim the leads.
– Install C6 – 0.015
μ
F – on the right channel speaker PWB in the position “ Cfb ”. Solder in
place.
– Install C6 – 0.015
μ
F – on the left channel speaker PWB in the position “ Cfb ”. Solder in
place.
– Mount the 4-terminal Molex header (male) at the Conn1 position on the right channel
speaker PWB. Solder in place.
– Mount the 4-terminal Molex header (male) at the Conn1 position on the left channel
speaker PWB. Solder in place.
The completed PWB is shown in Figure 5.10. Note that the RYL1, R26, R27, R24a, and R24b
positions are vacant.
– Place a self-adhesive vinyl pad on each of the four corners (approximately) of the two
speaker terminal PWBs (eight pieces in all). The pads are intended to make sure the
