60 W Stereo Power Amplifier
– Cut an 8-inch piece of medium-sized expandable sleeving. Cut two pieces of medium
heat-shrink tubing, each about 3/4-inch long.
– Feed the 8-inch piece of sleeving onto the black, white, and green wires from the ac
primary input socket and circuit breaker CB51. Stretch the sleeving to its full length. Place
one piece of heat-shrink tubing on each end of the sleeving. Process with the heat gun. Be
careful to focus the heat on the heat-shrink tubing, not the sleeving (which may melt if
exposed to too much heat).
– Prepare a piece of hookup wire: 8-inch, #18, green. Connect one end of the wire to the
ground lug on filter FL51. Solder in place. Connect the other end of the wire to one of the
ground lugs at the main ground point on the back panel. Do not solder.
– Find the
green
#16 wire from the ac power input connector. Connect to the ground post on
the input side of ac line filter
FL51
. It may be helpful to use a pair of long-nose pliers to
secure the connector.
– Find the
white
#16 wire from circuit breaker CB1. Connect to the line terminal on the
input side of ac line filter
FL51
that is closest to the back panel of the chassis. It may be
helpful to use a pair of long-noise pliers to secure the connector.
– Find the
black
#16 wire from the ac power input connector. Connect to the remaining line
terminal on the input side of ac line filter
FL51
. It may be helpful to use a pair of long-
noise pliers to secure the connector.
– Prepare a 10-inch long black #18 wire. Secure one end to the ground lug on the right
channel PWB. Solder. Secure the other end to the back panel ground lug that already
includes the black wire from FL51. Do not solder. Route the wire through the cable clamp
adjacent to FL51 and the power supply PWB.
– Prepare a 9-inch long black #18 wire. Secure one end to the ground lug on the power
supply PWB. Solder (2 wires). Secure the other end to the back panel ground lug that
already includes the black wire from FL51 and the black wire from the right channel
PWB. Solder (3 wires). Route the wire through the cable clamp adjacent to RYL51 and
the power supply PWB.
