– Insert the 4-terminal Molex connector on the
CONN1
post on the auto-protect PWB. The
yellow wires go to terminals #1 and #2.
– Insert the quick-disconnect terminal on the
Sense1
post on the auto-protect PWB.
– Route the sleeving and cables along the front panel next to the top of the chassis to the
switches on the side of the chassis adjacent to the right channel PWB.
– Examine SW202, the Auto-Off Enable/Disable switch. Using an ohmmeter, determine the
proper orientation (up/down throw) for the switch. The switch bat handle should face
upward when the contacts are closed. Tighten the mounting nut. Be careful to not scratch
the finish. Connect the white wires to SW202. Solder.
– Attach the yellow wires to SW201, the Timer Reset switch. Solder.
– Route the red high voltage wire through the cable clamps adjacent to the right channel
PWB to the barrier strip at the rear portion of the circuit board. Attach a spade terminal to
the wire. Attach to
Terminal #1
on the right channel PWB.
– Prepare a 10-inch long #22 high voltage (600 V) red wire. Attach a quick-disconnect
terminal to one end and a spade terminal to the other end.
– Attach the quick-disconnect terminal to the
Sense2
post on the auto-protect PWB. Attach
the spade terminal to
Terminal #1
on the left channel PWB.
In the basic design, both voltage sensors are set for 400 to 450 V dc. Other values can be
accommodated; see the Circuit Description section of this document. It assumed that one sense
wire will be connected to the plate supply and the other to the screen supply. If a screen supply is
not used, connect both wires to the plate supply.
– Prepare two 13-inch long #22 white wires. Attach quick disconnect terminals to one end
of each wire. Connect the free ends of the wires to the temperature sensor, SW203. Solder.
Twist the wires together. Connect the wires to the
SW203
posts on the auto-protect PWB.
– Find the black #16 stranded wire connected between the hot load terminal of filter FL1
and the front panel power switch. Remove the wire and set it aside; it will not be used.
